With multiple boulders to choose from and forgiving landings, Craigmaddie Boulders is a great venue for families and groups looking to try a new bouldering location.
They offer a huge range of bouldering from easy 4s and 5s up to 7c. Some of the best lines are 3 star 6bs 7as.
Access
- Go north through Milngavie on the A81, until you pass the reservoir embankment and the country club. After a series of bends there is a 3 way junction sign posted Bardowie. Take the high B-road and not the south road.
- Follow the road 2km past the farm and the millstone wall. You will find a passing place on the righthand side (room for three cars).
- Walk to the gate by the WW2 bunker and cross the field to the obvious crag.
What to be aware of:
- Loose rock is frequent on the lesser climbed lines and has been known on the main face.
