Orkney Climbing Club

The Orkney Climbing Club are a club for everyone. From young, new climbers to the experienced.

The club has a great committee keen to promote climbing in Orkney and see the club grow. With weekly indoor climbing sessions throughout the year and outdoor sessions as much as possible, the Orkney Climbing club offers all forms of climbing to everyone year round.

The clubs youth element supports the Scottish youth competitions like the Scottish Schools and YCS and gives them the chance to meet climbers their own age and make good friends from all over Scotland. This will continue as its great to build up friendships like this to bring climbers of all ages together.

This year we held the first “Gan Climbing” weekend and had folk from all over Scotland attended with the support from Climb Scotland.

We have been lucky to get abroad to Spain this past two years for all ages and had a blast.

Club activities include:

• Tuesday’s 7.30-10pm for all inducted members. As long as you can climb turn up.
• Sunday’s 6.15-8.15pm for all inducted members and beginners, we offer free instruction on Sundays as well as coaching for adults and children
• We do local fun comps for adults as well as kids
• Outdoors as much as possible weather permitting, and run beginner sessions out on rock.
• Learn new climbing skills
• Coaching
• Skills training for interested parents
