Mountaineering Scotland provides recognised training that will count towards Continual Personal Development points. Fundamentals coaching courses and Physical Training courses are available through Mountaineering Scotland and are run by endorsed coaches.

Glenmore Lodge, the national outdoor training centre, provides training in just about every outdoor sport, from the Mountain Leader award to UKCC paddlesports awards.

Mountain Training UK & Ireland

Nationally recognised awards developed by Mountain Training are available for climbing, hill walking and mountaineering. These are industry standard awards if you are looking to work in the outdoor industry. The training courses alone offer a fantastic insight into the technical side of the activities.

NICAS

National Indoor Climbing Award Schemes (NICAS®) offer an introduction to climbing and provide a gateway to learning more and developing a love for the sport. NICAS is delivered a number of indoor climbing venues across Scotland.

Edinburgh College

Interested in a full time course in Adventure Leadership Studies? Edinburgh College is offering the opportunity to study outdoor pursuits on a full time basis. This can be a good way to enter the outdoor industry.

Perth College UHI

Interested in a career in the outdoors? Perth College UHI offer several courses in outdoor education, activity leadership and coaching from NQ to Degree level which is a great entry point into the industry.
