Indoor Roped Climbing and Bouldering in Kirkcudbrightshire

Abernethy Barcaple is one of The Abernethy Trusts’ Outdoor Centres catering for families and school groups. This new indoor climbing wall in the new Sports Barn at their centre near castle Douglas was built in 2020 and was the first climbing wall in the Dumfries and Galloway area.

The climbing wall is in a dedicated space within the main hall. It has 17 rope lines and 200m2 of bouldering surface. The wall is used for residential groups throughout the summer months but is open to the public at other times.
