FREE Competition Belaying workshop

In the run up to our biggest roped competitions, ClimbScotland will be hosting two FREE competition belaying workshops for those eager to volunteer as belayers at our competitions. 

The course will cover bottom rope belaying, as well a a bigger focus on lead belaying with a focus on perfect practice for competitions. Practical topics will include:

• Best practice lead and bottom rope belaying
• How to avoid accidents demonstrations
• Common errors discussion
• Soft catch demonstration and practical’s
• Different belay devices

The FREE workshop is open to anyone who wishes to belay at our competitions.

This workshop is free, but there will be the standard entry fee to the climbing facility. Please sign yourself in at reception and meet our instructor inside.
