Euan McFayden EICA Ratho 3

Euan McFadyen

Originally from Dunoon on Scotland’s west coast, Euan is an experienced route setter and passionate climber. He first discovered climbing at age 14 at the newly opened TCA in Glasgow, and soon after began competing for both Scotland and Great Britain.

While he enjoys all disciplines of climbing, Euan’s true passion lies in outdoor bouldering. Growing up, he spent countless weekends at Dumbarton Rock, where he climbed many of its hardest lines and claimed several first ascents. His proudest Scottish boulder to date remains Sanction (8B).

When he’s not setting or climbing, Euan can usually be found relaxing on the sofa with his cat, Basti.

As a former competition climber himself, Euan is excited to create challenging routes and boulders, support the next generation of Scottish athletes, and bring the latest developments in the sport back home.
