A mock route competition that will help prepare participants for the upcoming Scottish Youth Climbing Championships. There is no Youth E category in the SYCC so they cannot attend – please see other academies for Youth E.

We use our national competition route setting team to set competition style routes specifically for this event. It’s a great opportunity to experience the setting you will find in modern competitions as well as a chance to get to grips with the format of these competitions. The day starts with a coach led discussion around different tactics to use for competitions before spending a few hours on the competition routes. If you’re unsure whether you’re at the right level for the national comps or currently attend the national comps but wish to improve your climbing come competition day, then this is a great low stress environment to get a feel for the difficulty in a supportive environment.
