Your future in the outdoors
Edinburgh College
offer a one year full time course in Adventure Leadership Studies. This course is designed to help you develop your knowledge and skills. It will give you an insight into the outdoor pursuits industry, which is great for those thinking of a career in the sector.

As well as activity-related residential trips and practical work placements of up to 6 weeks during the year, here is a list of some of the training you can complete whilst on the course:
Entry requirements
Although no formal qualifications are required, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Demonstrate an interest and evidence of participation or experience in two of the following activities: hillwalking, mountain biking, paddle sports and rock climbing.
- Show experience of assisting and/or volunteering (advantageous, but is not essential).

What next after the one year course?
After completing the course, it is possible to further study a related subject such as:
- SVQ Adventure Tourism
- BA Hons Adventure Tourism Management
- BA Hons Adventure Performance and Coaching
Many previous students have also gone straight into the world of work!
